Frequently Asked Questions
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. PDFSnap uses Mozilla's PDF.js library which runs entirely in your browser. Your PDF file never leaves your device.
What scale should I choose?
1× gives 72 DPI (screen quality), 2× gives 144 DPI (good for most uses), and 3× gives 216 DPI (print-ready). Higher scale produces larger, sharper images but takes more memory.
PNG vs JPEG — which should I pick?
PNG is lossless and best for documents with text and sharp edges. JPEG is smaller and suitable for photo-heavy PDFs. For most document PDFs, PNG is the better choice.
Why can't I convert a password-protected PDF?
Password-protected PDFs need to be unlocked before conversion. You'll need to enter the password or use a PDF unlocker first.
Is there a page limit?
No strict limit, but very large PDFs (100+ pages at 3× scale) may use significant memory. For large documents, try 1× or 2× scale.
